Josefina "Fina" Acuña Reyes

Josefina Acuña Reyes of Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023 at the age of 98. She was born Josefina Hernandez Acuña in Douglas, Arizona on December 21, 1924 to Ramón Grijalva Acuña and Carolina de Hernandez Acuña. She married Lucas Falcón Reyes in 1942 and moved to Benson, Arizona in 1950 before finally moving to Tucson, Arizona in 1958.

Josefina will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Josefina was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Lucas Falcón Reyes, her brother Miguel Hernandez Acuña, her sister Carolina Acuña Ellsworth, her son Roberto Acuña Reyes, her daughter-in-law Ernestina "Tina" Jaramillo Reyes, her grandson Travis Nathaniel Reyes, her granddaughter Renae Ann Ibarra and great-granddaughter Christina Marie Castillo. Josefina is survived by her five children, Enrique Acuña Reyes, Olivia Beltran (Richard), Norma Simental (Edmund), Sylvia Molera (Richard) and Hector Acuña Reyes (Jill), 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation for Josephine will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712. A graveside service will occur Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 East Grant Road, #C, Tucson, AZ 85712. A reception will occur Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712.
