TRIMBLE, John B. "Jack" passed on January 10, 2017. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on January 29, 1925. He and his family moved to Tucson in 1926. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda in 1984 and his wife, Chris in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette. He is also survived by his son, Tom (June) and daughter, Kelly (Carl) as well as six grandchildren, one great-grandson and numerous step-grandchildren. Jack graduated from Tucson High School in 1943 and immediately entered the Army Air Corps during WWII where he served as a B-17 pilot. He attended the University of Arizona and obtained a degree in Civil Engineering in 1950. During the Korean War 1951-1953 he served as an officer in the USAF as a civil engineer in Japan. After Korea, Jack returned to Tucson and began his 25-year career at the University of Arizona as Associate Director & Director of Physical Resources. He oversaw and supervised all campus buildings, grounds and police department. During this time the campus grew from 94 to 310 acres, 57 major buildings were constructed including McKale Center, expansion of the stadium and the Medical School and Hospital. He oversaw 1200 plus employees. He retired from the U of A in 1978. From 1978 thru 1981 he worked for Defco Const. Co. as supervisor of Heavy Construction. From 1981 thru 1992 he and his son established Trimble Engineering which designed all aspects of civil engineering and surveying. In 1992 Jack retired and worked part-time as an engineering consultant, continued surveying and was a pilot for McClain Aerial Surveying. Up until his sudden passing he enjoyed golf, gardening and puttering around the house. Memorial donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project. Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2017 at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN, 5401 S.
