John retired from Sunnyside School District and was elected Vice Mayor during his tenure as City Councilman in South Tucson.
He was a loving, kind, and respected person, always willing to give a helping hand
to anyone that needed it.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Ernesto and Tillie Garcia,
step father; Cecilio Monterde, brother; Ismael Garcia;
sister, brother-in-law and nephew; Gloria, Bobby and Anthony Ramirez;
niece and great nephew; Yvonne McCormick, Kevin Ambrose and
brother-in-law; Gilbert Nunez.
Survived by siblings; Ernesto H. (Natalia) Garcia, Tillie Nunez and
Vangie (Richard) Walker.
Sister-in-law; Emma Garcia, several nieces, nephews, cousins, an uncle, three aunts and a close friend and helper; Dale McNaughton.
Private graveside services will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday June 20, 2020 at
the South Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Jim Munns officiating.
A memorial service is scheduled for a later date.
