Born in Marfa, TX on March 20, 1942 to Pete and Lou Ella Caruso, John graduated from Prescott High School in 1960. He joined the United States Air Force in 1961, during which he served in Vietnam. In 1964, John married Janice Marie Edwards and together they raised four children over the course of 30 years.
In 1993, he relocated to Tucson, AZ to be closer to family and friends. After 30 years of service as a dedicated civil servant, John retired in 2008.
He is survived by his mother, Lou Ella Caruso and his siblings, Johanna Winge and Janet King. He is also survived by his children, John E. Caruso, Lisa Hall, Angela Wells, Gina Stout and Peter Caruso (son of Nina Caruso) as well as his grandchildren, Miranda and Andrew Springer, Ryan and Emily Wells.
The services will be held at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, TX at 10am on Friday, September 26, 2014.
