Joanne L Schwartz

Joanne was born September 27,1947 in Milwaukee, WI.

She graduated from Custer High School and later with honors from Milwaukee Area Technical College with a degree in Nursing. She served her communities as an RN in Milwaukee and later in Marshfield and Wausau as a surgical nurse until her retirement. Joanne and her husband Howard enjoyed traveling and created special memories around the world. She loved welcoming family and friends with a homecooked meal or spending summer nights around a campfire. In her spare time, she was a talented quilter and crafter and she enjoyed cooking and serving meals for those in need in her community. She will be fondly remembered for her warm, loving, witty personality.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Pelchie (Klimek) Berens, parents-in-law, Eugene and Ruth Schwartz and sister, Barbara (Berens) Marek.

She is survived by her dedicated husband of 47 years, Howard and her loving children Jeff (Rachel) Endres and Jodie (Rob) Bragg. Adoring grandchildren Tina (Chris) Koonsman, Keone (Sato) Logan, Arielle Logan, Sarah (Cameron Bopp) Beidatsch, and Lindsey (Xander) King. And precious great-grandchildren Karter Koonsman, Kirito Logan and Kouno Logan. Sister Nancy (Jim) Schertz, sister-in-law Lois Krieg, brothers-in-law Glen (Pat) Schwartz and Ron (Rena) Schwartz. And many dear nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Joanne’s life will be planned for Spring, 2024 in Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart/Stroke Association greatly appreciated.
