Born to Helmi and Cecil Moore, Joan attended Sam Hughes Elementary School, Mansfeld Junior High, Tucson High, and the University of Arizona, where she was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi. She was honored with the titles of 1958 U of A Homecoming Queen and the 1958 Fiesta de los Vaqueros Rodeo Queen.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her son eldest son, Gary, and her brother Clelan Moore. Joan is survived by her son, Doug Mueller (Susan); her daughter Debbie Jamison (Kendall); her grandchildren, Lauren Mueller O’Toole (Cameron), Scott Mueller, Preston Jamison, Kirsten Jamison Duncan (Shelley); and her four great grandchildren, Poppy, Jaxon, Piper, and Maverick Duncan. She also leaves behind her sweet labrador, Kami.
Joan was a dedicated volunteer and enjoyed sharing her passion for needlepoint with others. She taught at The West for 22 years, where she formed many long-lasting relationships.
In her final moments, Joan expressed her gratitude, saying, “I thank my loving God who blessed me with a loving family and friends, good health and a life full of love, joy, and happiness. I am now on my way to that glorious home to be with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. What more could anyone want? Spread kindness, love and joy to one another. Amen.”
