Joan Gwendolyn Lamb

Devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother

Joan Gwendolyn Lamb, 89, passed away at her Tucson home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, April 17th, 2023.

Joan was born on April 22, 1933, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to Morris Sr. and Gwendolyn Lamb. Joan was the oldest of seven children. She enjoyed caring for her brothers and sisters.

She relocated to Tucson, Arizona, in 1979. She worked for the Arizona Department of Motor Vehicle for 14 years and proudly retired in 1994 to care for her great-grandchildren.

Joan was an avid reader and volunteered at The Drexel Heights Senior Center and The Golden Ages. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, exercising, photography, puzzles, board games, collecting dolls, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her daughter Dawn McCleskey and husband, Wayne Jr.; grandchildren, Regina Ramirez and Husband, David Jr., Christopher McCleskey and significant other, Guadalupe Ramos.; Great Granddaughter Thailyza Prentiss and Husband Caleb; Great Grandson and his three children; Great Grandsons Angelo Ramos and Cosmo Collins; Three Great- Great Grandsons Jaide Jones, Trevell Ramirez, and Greydi Prentiss; Her siblings Gwendolyn McCleskey and husband Wayne Sr., Jerry Lamb, and John Lamb; Many Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Sr. and Gwendolyn Lamb; Her siblings, Morris Jr. Lamb, Rita Lamb, and Leonard Lamb.

Joan will especially be remembered for her love of lemon-flavored everything, selflessness, independence, stubbornness, and dedication to her grandchildren.

The memorial services will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Avenue, Tucson, Arizona 85706. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Labre Indian School.
