Jim's heart of service started as a young man when he enlisted in the United States Navy to serve our country in the Vietnam War. After completing this enlistment, he was part of the Army Reserves stationed out of Fort Huachuca, Arizona where he served in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. Jim gave of himself in this position for 19 years, honoring his beliefs of serving his God, his country, and his Family forever in his heart. His dedication to country is what ultimately took him from us like many Vietnam veterans. This could not be foreseen but we know now that he is walking streets of gold no longer trapped in a failing earthly body.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lynn, their four children through a blended family of nearly thirty years, Stephanie (Rich), Josh (Salina), Doug (Mary) and Jesse (Lee). Jim has five siblings, two who preceded him in death, Robert and Cindy, and is survived by his remaining siblings Jerry, Nina and Kathy. Jim and Lynn share nine grandchildren whom he was so proud of, Virginia, Gabe, Noah, Colin, Kobe, Isaac, Theron, Ember and Caden. Jim and Lynn shared two nieces and two nephews, John and Sara, as well as Iva and Josh who preceded Jim in death. Jim and Lynn shared one great-niece, Delilah.
Services will be held at United Christian Fellowship church on March 23, 2024. There will be a light reception following the service. Please join us by bringing your favorite memories and stories of Jim and the lives he touched.
As a family we are requesting that in lieu of flowers you consider making a donation to the Southwest Regional VA facility (through National PADRECC), Parkinson's Disease Foundation (https:\\parkinsons.va.gov). Arizona is served through the Southwest Regional location in Los Angeles, CA.
