He was born October 9, 1951 in Salem, Oregon, the son of John N. and Jean (King) High.
Following High School, Jerry then served with the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War as well as graduating from the University of Oregon in Corvallis, Oregon.
Jerry also held a Professional career in the Boy Scouts of America, and pursued the profession as a Radiologic Technologist for over 25 years. He was a loyal member (and president) of ASSRT and a member of ASRT, his radiology societies. Because of his radiology career, he met the love of his life, Janet {Corder} High at TMC, and were married for 22 years.
Jerry wore many hats, including a boy scout cap, sailor's hat, graduation cap, captain's hat (when on his ill -fated boat) Instead of an X-Ray hat, he wore a lead vest. His hobbies included photography, camping, hiking, traveling, cruising, and grilling.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Janet, and his sister, Susan Reiss {husband Gregg}.
He was a member of El Camino Baptist Church for many years, and helped lead two Sunday School Classes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wayne Corder Youth Assistance Fund at El Camino Baptist Church, 7777 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85716. There will be a family ceremony at East lawn Palms Cemetery.
