James R. Kozar III was born on July 5, 1965 on Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, Nebraska .He graduated from Sahuaro High School in Tucson, Arizona in May 1983.He enlisted in the United States Navy on August 23, 1983. Jimmie entered active duty on May 29, 1984 and attended basic training he attended cryptology technician school. He reported for his first tour of duty to NSGA Misawa, Japan in February 1985. In September 1986, Jimmie reported for duty in Okinawa, Japan as a non Morse Collection Operator analyst was advanced to CTT2. In 1988 Jimmie Married Seiko Shiroma In Okinawa, Japan.
Jimmie's son ,Nikki Tsubasa Kozar was born Dec 23rd 1988.In 1990, Jimmie Reported to NSGA Fort George G. Meade, Maryland and was converted to CTR2.
Jimmie's daughter Hitomi Alisa Kozar was born October 2, 1991. September 1993 he completed survival, resistance and escape training.
He graduated from Naval Aircrew Candidate School in November 1993. In course and reported from duty as a Naval Aircrewman in Rota, Spain in April 1944.During this tour, he was advanced to CTR1. In 1997, Jimmie reported from duty at NSGA Whidby Island, Washington and played a crucial role in standing
up and managing the navy's first cryptologic support to electronic attack direct support division fro deployed EA-6B Prowler Aircrews and continued to fly as Naval Aircrewman in support to VQ-1 and VQ-2 operations. Jimmie was selected as Chief Petty in 1999 and assigned as the Operations in Misawa, Japan.
In August 2003 Jimmie was Honorably Discharged with Rank of Chief Petty Officer First Class. His awards include: The Air Medal with a gold star. Joint Service
Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal( with a gold star), Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (four awards) and various campaign and unit awards. After moving back to Tucson in 2003, Jimmie started working at Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa as Service Express Supervisor. He attended ITT Technical Institute and Graduated in March 2009 with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems Security. He graduated with honors from the National Technical Honor Society with a 3.96 FINAL GPA. That same month he started his career as a subcontractor for the Computer Science Corporation (CSC) at Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, AZ where he was an IT Desktop Support Team Lead. Jimmie is Survived by his parents, James Robert Kozar Jr(and Debbie) of Reno, Nevada and Katherine Ann Moreno (and lee) of Tucson. He is also survived by siblings Gina Sears, Anthony Kozar and Tessa Colegrove-, who reside in Tucson, Arizona . He also has 6 nieces and nephews and 2 great nieces and nephews, who also live in Tucson, Arizona. Jimmie's son, Nikki is a Civil Engineer who has in the Air Force for 8 years and is currently stationed in Honduras. Nikki's wife, Ammie Kozar
resides in Tucson, Arizona with heir 2 Children, Miyavi and Ayumi. His daughter, Hitomi is currently living in Kobe,Japan where she is an English Teacher.
Jimmie had a wonderful sense of humor and would consistently be the center of attention during family events with his great story telling and conversational style. He was known as a devoted and loyal friend and co-worker with an unparalleled work ethic. He will be dearly missed by many. Fair winds and flowing seas, Chief Kozar.
