James Edward Gomez

Edward Gomez, 52, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on September 20, 2023. He was born on March 27, 1971, in Tucson, Arizona. Edward, also known as James Edward Gomez, was a loving father, son, brother, and friend.

Edward was a resilient individual who faced a challenging battle with Stage 4 stomach cancer. Diagnosed in August of 2022, he fought with unwavering determination, ultimately conquering the disease. However, despite his victory over cancer, fate had other plans, and Edward was called to be an angel in heaven.

Edward is survived by his mother, Delia Contreras; his beloved daughters, Ilianna Gomez, Andrea Perez, and Alessandra Gomez (Edward was soon to become a Tata). Edward leaves behind his brother, Frank Gomez, and sister-in-law, Marcie Gomez. He was a cherished uncle to his nephews and nieces. Edward is preceded in death by his father, Frank L. Gomez, his brother, Javier Gomez, and his nephew, Anthony Garcia. He also leaves behind his sister, Cassandra Gomez.

In his free time, Edward was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoyed following the team and cheering them on during their games. His passion for the sport brought him joy and camaraderie with fellow fans.

Edward Gomez will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His strength, resilience, and kind spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.

A memorial service for Edward will be held Monday, October 9, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the Rosary will begin at 10:00 AM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A graveside service will occur Monday, October 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A reception will occur Monday, October 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. The compassionate staff at South Lawn Cemetery will be assisting the family during this difficult time.
