Born in Columbus, Ohio on June 9, 1930, he retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company and moved to Tucson in 1988 with his wife Mary Jo. Jack and Mary Jo were married for 60 years. A proud member of the US Army, he attended boot camp at West Point and was honorably discharged after being wounded and receiving the Purple Heart in Korea.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leo and Helen Dorn. He is the proud father of Pam (Jeff) Miller of Tucson, Terri (Dan) Huffman of Delaware, OH, Jane (Steve) Palmer of Westerville, OH, Joan (Kurt) Swarts of Delaware, OH, and Jenifer of Tucson, the proud grandfather of Kevin, Ross (Ashley), and Jason Miller, Danielle and John Huffman, Erika (Jeff) McCauslin, Jackie (Nate) Hill, Adam Palmer and Ryan Palmer, and the proud great-grandfather of Joey, Emmett, and Addison. Our heartfelt gratitude towards the hospice staff: Regina, Jean, Ellen and Isabel; for their love and care with Jack.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church Building Fund, Tucson, Soulistic Hospice, Tucson, and Honor Flight. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. April 8, 2016 at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, with the funeral to follow on April 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
