Gloria K Poston

Born May 22,1927 to Lydia and Fred Kohn in Clifton, AZ. She attended school in Casa Grande, and, in 1936, Sam Hughes, Mansfield Junior High, and graduated Tucson High in 1944. Gloria graduated from University of Arizona in 1948 where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta. She married Elliot Poston in 1947 at Trinity Presbyterian Church. She taught at Drachman Elementary School until her husband’s job moved the family to California and New Jersey, where Gloria worked as a Legal Assistant for 10 years in Madison, NJ. In 1991, she and Elliot returned to Tucson where she became a member of P.E.O. Chapter E. She tapped with “The Hot Flashes” group, enjoyed bridge, and was a member and office volunteer at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.

Predeceased by husband, Elliot (1995) and son Fred (1990), survived by daughters Joan Knapp (Leonard) and Carolyn Wisk (Joe), grandchildren Adam Knapp, Amelia Redmond (John), Jayson Wisk and Travis Wisk and great-grandchildren Coral and Beckett Redmond.

A private family memorial service will be held at a future date. Final arrangements and care are entrusted to East Lawn Palms Mortuary.
