On 11/22/11, an angel left this earth. Gloria passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Gloria, will remember her as an extraordinarily kind, unselfish, and thoughtful person who was also devoted to loving animals.
Gloria was born in Bluefields, Nicaragua. She graduated from Temple University in 1954. After she was married, her life took her to Central America, Spain, Greece & France. She came to Tucson in 1960 and began working as a dental hygienist for TUSD. She retired in 1985. Not one to sit still for long, she began volunteering at St. Joseph’s Hospital, The Humane Society, and St. Pius Catholic Church.
Thank you to all the employees at Carestone Assisted Living and Catalina Foothills Adult Care who helped her out when she needed it and made her smile. Thank you also to everyone at Casa De La Luz Hospice for your guidance and support. We would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Escobar D.D.S., and Kitty for their enduring generosity. Mom treasured her lifelong friends, Kitty & Pat, whose special friendship brought her a great deal of happiness. We will all miss her love and warm smile that brightened a room. Her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
Gloria is survived by her two daughters, Marian (John) and Patty (Mark), and her granddaughters, Linda, Sarah, Gina (Brad), and Christina, and her great-granddaughter, Isabella, and great-grand twins, Jacob and Olivia.
On Sunday, November 27th at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY,5801 E. Grant, a visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
