George Carrol Linker

George Carrol Stanford Linker, 80, was released into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. He was born in Clayton, OK on September 18, 1937 to Huey “Jack” Stanford Linker and Anna Lee “Billie” Bradford.

He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Barbara Alice (Ray) Linker, and children, Phillip Wayne (Ruby) Linker of Pacifica, CA, Sue Ann (Mark) Minton of Scottsdale, AZ, and Patrick Wayne (Karen) McGuire of San Diego, CA; his 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; his siblings Charlotte Ledford of Snowflake, AZ, Jerry Linker of Buckeye, AZ, Linda Gleason of Phoenix, AZ, Doug Linker of Beaumont, TX, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings; Arthur Linker, Juanita Jennings, and Larry Linker.

George grew up in Coolidge, AZ and graduated from Coolidge High School, Class of 1957. He attended Arizona State for a year before entering the US Army, followed by the National Guard, and then enlisted in the US Navy as an Avionics Technician. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, and served 22 years in the US Armed Forces, retiring in 1984. Following his military career, he worked as a Field Service Representative for several pharmaceutical companies installing and repairing medical equipment. His last employment was 14 yrs as a Sales Consultant with Saturn of National City, CA.

He and Barbara raised their family in San Diego, CA. He loved to coach and mentor young children and teens. In his spare time he coached Pop Warner Football and Girl's Softball. Next to his family, he loved English Bulldogs; their first family pet, Sweetpea, and in retirement his beloved Georgie Girl.

Above all else, he loved the Lord with all his heart, and he loved his Country to the end.

Marked in George's Bible is the verse, John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” … and his written notation is: God has blessed me.
