George N. Fierro, 87, a Tucson resident for, 57 years passed away, March 7, 2012. George is preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Strange Fierro and his loving sister, Frances Fierro Baker. George is survived by his wife, Mary Meehan Fierro; his sons Robert and Stephen (Clare); his sister Elmira Belini and his brother Norman Fierro; 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. George was born and educated in North Adams, MA. He was a World War II veteran and a D-Day survivor. George retired after 31 years with the Civil Service at Davis Monthan. George was instrumental in the instillation and maintenance of Titan Missile sites. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, March 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
