Frank Joseph Robinson Jr.

Our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Frank Joseph Robinson Jr. a.k.a Junior, Frankie, Robbie, Frank-chan, Franco, and Ojiichan, was born to the late Anna Lukaniec- Robinson and first lieutenant, Frank Robinson on April 5th 1940 in Stamford, CT. He is the older brother of two siblings, Robert and Ann Marie, whom were all born in different states due to their father’s military service. The three of them were eventually raised in Lawton, OK where their father died when Frank was at the young age of 11. Raised by a single mother, Frank graduated St. Mary’s High school in 1959 before enlisting himself into the Army for one year. After that year, he left the Army to join the US Air Force where he dedicated himself for 25 and ½ years as a career Security Police Officer. As a security officer, Frank had many secret service and high security jobs. When President Lyndon B. Johnson was in office, Frank assisted in keeping Johnson’s Texas estate secure. During one of his secret service deployments, while stationed in Japan, Frank met Yumiko Ito and fell in love. Because Yumiko, aka Yumi, was a foreigner, Frank had to fill out an application requesting the Air Force to approve of their union. Once they did, Frank and Yumi were married after 2 months of meeting and Yumi only speaking a few words of English. After a required transfer, they moved to the states and 7 years later they became pregnant with their daughter, April, and to their surprise, 11 months and 18 days later, they also gave birth to their son Stefan. After many years of transfers and TDY’s, Frank and Yumi had settled for a bit in Ellsworth AFB, SD where Frank eventually retired his position in the Air Force and moved to Everett, WA where Frank became a Federal Reserve Officer for 18 years at the Federal Reserve Bank in Seattle, WA. Frank loved WA and its beautiful greenery and culture. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, traveling, gardening, keeping in close contact with neighbors, joking around with friends, attending local sports games (especially Stefan’s), and partaking in charitable events through his church. He is a fourth degree knight through the organization, Knight’s of Columbus. Frank was a very devoted father and was often seen bragging about his children and supporting them in whatever way he could; organizing neighborhood games, attending their sports events, supporting roles in theater, etc. He worked extremely hard to offer his children and wife what he did not have growing up, therefore, leaving them with an enriched life full of fond memories and adventures. After retirement from the FRB, and less than two years ago, Frank and Yumi moved to Tucson, AZ to be closer to their two grand boys, Cyrus 7 and Elijah 6. He loved spending time and ‘spoiling’ his grandsons. You would often see him joking around with them and taking them to miniature golf, swimming and tennis, to the movies, the zoo, museums, and more. Always striving to make a lasting memory. With almost 75 years of existence of which 69 years was being a brother, 47 years as a beloved husband, 40 years as a devoted father, 26 years as a military serviceman, 15 years as a Federal Officer, and 7 years being a involved and loving grandfather; he has left behind a strong and fruitful legacy.
