Frank Anthony Castaneda (Pelon) was born on September 13, 1995 in Tucson, Arizona where
he passed away peacefully on October 29, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was an
amazing young man with a passion for life. He fought for nine years with his unwavering faith.
Always with a smile on his face and positive outlook. Frank was someone who was able to
make any person happy and put a smile on their face because of the positive energy he brought
into the room. He accepted the plan God had for him, never questioned it, and never stopped
fighting. With Frank’s personal strength, he gave his friends and family the courage to keep
fighting alongside him. He was smart, tender-hearted, determined, an athlete, quick-witted -
man he was good with those comebacks! He graduated from Salpointe Catholic Highschool in
2014. He was our #13 on the baseball field- he loved the game! He worked hard on and off the
field. His love for the game gave him the opportunity to meet and become friends with so many
wonderful people from club ball to high school ball. After graduating he attended the University
of Arizona on academic scholarship and Pima Community College.
Frank was a special man that left a big impact on every person that he came across and his
legacy will live on forever. Take each day with a smile, never lose faith, never lose hope and
fight with all you have. Lean on those you love for support, they will lift you.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Ubaldo Soto and his aunt Michelle Caballero. He
is survived by his parents Frank and Michelle, siblings: Alexis (Josh), Adrian (Haley), Stephanie,
Eli, and two nephews Parker and Anderson. He is also survived by grandparents, many aunts,
uncles and cousins.
Frankie our hearts are broken into a million pieces, and though you may not be here physically
anymore we know you still walk beside us. Although it is difficult to understand God’s plan, we
take comfort in knowing you are now at peace. You touched so many lives in your short 25
years. We will hold close to our hearts the many wonderful memories you blessed us with. We
will always love and miss you. You will forever be in our hearts, until we meet again.
