Eugene E Scott

Eugene Scott went home to be with God and his Savior on June 11, 2018. He was born at Nanticoke, PA, on April 17, 1924. Eugene served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945 in the Pacific Theater as an aircrewman with VT-5 aboard the USS Yorktown, “The Fighting Lady.” He earned degrees in education, administration and counseling at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, ASU, and UA. Eugene was a teacher and counselor in TUSD for many years. A devout Christian he was involved in church activities at Fountain of Life and Ascension Lutheran Churches. He was active with the Tucson Wilmot Lions (30 year life member) and the Tucson Education Association. Proceeded in death by wife, Barbara Scott. Survived by children, Susan Reavis (Bob), Janice Truitt (Jim), Alan Scott (Martine); grandchildren, Kevin (Lindsey) and Kimberly Truitt, Jaimie and Peyton Reavis, Colette and Daniel Scott; great-grandson, Jayson Eugene Truitt; brother, Walter Scott, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be at Ascension Lutheran Church on July 7 at 11am. Private burial will be at East Lawn with military honors.
