Ellen Jane Dunn

Ellen Jane (Reed) Dunn, 62, went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2017, in Yakima, Washington. Ellen was born on May 12, 1954, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to David and Christine (Parker) Reed.

From a young child through high school, Ellen attended Morningside Baptist Church where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Ellen graduated from Taconic high school in Pittsfield, Massachusetts in 1972.

Ellen met Rev. Roy William Dunn at Catalina Baptist Church during the summer of 1973 in Tucson, Arizona and were married on September 7, 1973. Their three children, Kathryn, Roy W. and Christine, were all born in Tucson prior to Ellen and Roy being called into the ministry in 1988 and moving to Berkeley, California in 1989 to attend seminary. Ellen joined the University of California Office of the President where she worked for 25 years prior to retirement.

Ellen attended Jubilee Christian Center in Fairfax, Virginia, where she and Roy served in the Prime Timers Senior Adult Ministry, a ministry which was very dear and close to Ellen’s heart.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and her step mother, Elizabeth (Fyler) Reed. Ellen is survived by her loving husband Rev. Roy William Dunn, her three children: Kathryn (Nicholas) Nunes, Roy William (Elizabeth) Dunn II and Christine E. Tafur, Esq.; her five grandchildren: Taylor Elizabeth Dunn, Emma Gene Dunn, California Nunes, Cooper Miller Dunn and Gracie Ruth Dunn; her three sisters: Carole Stomski, Nancy Brazill and Lois (John) Krzeminski and her two step-brothers; Robert (Charlotte) Blakeney and William (Nancy) Blakeney.

An 11:30 A.M. Funeral Service will be held on January 20, 2017 at Christian Faith Fellowship located at 1900 N. Country Club Road, Tucson, Arizona 85716. A graveside service will immediately follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery located at 5801 E. Grant Road, Tucson, Arizona 85712.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made in honor of Ellen J.
