Eleanor Marie Lanz Potts

Eleanor was born and raised in Ionia, Michigan. She is the oldest of seven siblings.

After studying at Moody Bible Institute, Eleanor and her husband, Floyd, traveled the US before going to Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil as missionaries for three years. After returning from missionary service, Eleanor and Floyd moved to Tucson in the mid-1950s.Floyd and Eleanor have six children. In addition to being a wife and mother, Eleanor worked at drapery shops making custom draperies and doing custom upholstery. After that, she worked as a teacher’s aide at Amphi High School until her retirement.

Eleanor loved the Lord Jesus and had a servant’s heart. She volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, VBS craft teacher (sometimes 3 times in one summer), clothing room worker, discipleship teacher, and anything else that might need to be done. Eleanor was very faithful in attending church at Sharing Ministries and Silverbell Baptist Church. Eleanor enjoyed cooking, traveling, quilting and Bible studies. Eleanor has travelled to Brazil, Israel, Canada, Switzerland and France as well as many places in the US with her children.

Survived by: Children: David Allen Potts and wife Karen (Tucson, AZ); Ruth Ann West and husband Loren (Frisco, TX); Samuel James Potts (Virginia Beach, VA); Dee J. Boucher and husband Bob (Dumfries, VA); Daniel Earl Potts and wife Tricia (Grand Prairie, TX); Paul Edward Potts (Denver, CO)

Grandchildren: Kristin West Rosenbaum, Adam V. Boucher, Arthur James Potts, Adam Vincent Boucher, Michelle Boucher Elliott, Corey Reed West and Allen George Potts. Great-grandchildren: Charlotte Boucher, Liam West, Norah West, Robby Boucher, Austin Rosenbaum, Addison Rosenbaum, Elizabeth Potts, Grayson Rosenbaum, Weston Rosenbaum, Aurora Potts. Siblings: Mary Tasma, Bill Lanz, Joy Gwilt and husband Joe, Jim Lanz and wife Bethel, Max Lanz and wife Louise, and Bob Lanz. Predeceased by: Parents – Max and Zelda Lanz

Spouse – Floyd Herbert Potts, Married August 3, 1951 until his death on September 10, 2002
