Edward Peel was born March 18, 1923 in Denver Colorado. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the US Navy on September 8, 1942 where he was trained as an aircraft mechanic. After the war, he married Marilyn Witte on August 27, 1949 and moved to Denver, where they raised four children, Stephen, Robert, Douglas and Jennifer. Marilyn passed away in 1961.
Ed loved aircraft, trains, travel, and the Colorado Rockies. He moved his family to Tucson in 1967 and worked on aircraft at Paul’s Aircraft until he retired. Ed was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed working on airplanes. He volunteered over 20,000 hours at the Pima Air Museum, restoring vintage aircraft. It was there that he met his true love Betty Bennett, who also worked there, and they had an amazing life together. He is survived by his three children Stephen, Douglas and Jennifer and grandchildren, Haley, Daniel, Lauren, and David.
