Edward is survived by his brother Gregory Fritsch, and his sister Valarie Kauffman (Fritsch), nieces and nephews, Aubree, Avery, Aidon, Adeline, and Hannah.
Edward was a Registered Nurse and was employed at Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. Edward was an ambitious learner and always found a way to continue his education and set new goals to achieve and advance his career. In Edwards younger years he graduated from Penn State College in 1998. He was involved in many activities. He was active in the Marching Band and Drum Corps. Edward loved music and was classically trained and proficient playing the Obo. In 2020, Edward was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He was determined to defeat the unimaginable, and underwent surgery to remove the mass while he continued his education. At the time of his diagnosis, Edward completed all necessary course work and maintained the highest grades and completed his Registered Nursing degree. Tragically during Edwards cancer journey his mother was killed in a high speed car crash, involving illegal immigrants being smuggled from the border. The turmoil, grief and stress of losing his mother in such a tragedy took a profound toll on his health. Edward persevered through the tragedy and continued to work and care for patients in the hospital. Anyone who knew Edward, knew and understood his humor and he made sure to surround himself with laughter. Any adversity in his life he always pushed through by making sure he was finding a way to laugh or to make others laugh. Edward will be greatly missed by his family, many friends and colleagues.
Edward will be returned home to Pennsylvania to be buried with his mother at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Beaver Meadows.
