Edward George Cvitkovich, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2018. Ed was born December 30,1931 to Nicholas and Sarah Cvitkovich in Cleveland, Ohio where he grew up. Ed is survived by his sister, Dee (Sam) Hembree, his three daughters, Karen (John) Brady; Nancy (Romano) Formichella; Laura (Alan) Greubel and his grandchildren, Kevin, Caitlin, Brendan (Kimberly) Brady; Allison and Liam Greubel.
Ed grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended East Technical High School where he was a member of the basketball and baseball teams. He and his older brother, Steve, were active with the Croatian community in Cleveland, forming their own orchestra and playing and singing traditional Croatian songs.
Ed, a Korean War veteran, attended Ohio State University on the GI Bill. He was the first in his family to attend and graduate from college. He was employed for 30 years with Warner & Swasey Company/Honeywell in their accounting/finance department. In 1983 Ed moved to Tucson and was employed by the City of Tucson as a city auditor.
Ed was passionate about his grandchildren, Ohio State football, Cleveland Indians baseball and working out at the gym. He enjoyed Mariachi music and playing baseball with the Senior League Tucson Rattlers.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Billet Hospice and Hacienda de Luna in Tucson for the care and compassion shown to Ed in his last days.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church 3210 E. Presidio in Tucson, Arizona on November 3 at 9:30 am. East Lawn Palms Mortuary is handling arrangements. Burial will be at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Marana, Arizona.
