Edna Elizabeth Cox

Elizabeth, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on April 20, 2013 with her husband and angels by her bedside. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Joseph, daughters Ann Sloan, Diana (Gary) Mondick, and Betty (Gary) Childs. She is also survived by her special nieces and nephew Bobbie Burkett and Mo (Louise) Hambrick. She was the proud grandmother of 6, great-grandmother of 19, and great-great grandmother of 4.

Helping others was second nature to Elizabeth. When living in Safford, she volunteered at the hospital, and the Diabetes Foundation and Community Food Bank were always on her donation list. She loved cats and feeding the wild birds. When her cardiologist suggested exercise, Elizabeth joined Silver Sneakers and attended regularly until her health issues prevented her doing so.

We will miss her beautiful smile and sparkling personality.

A memorial service will be held May 3, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at East Lawn Palms Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Dr. Lori Martin-Dewitt presiding. A reception will follow at the family home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Community Food Bank of Southern AZ.
