Earl Thomas Bowers Sr., age 57, peacefully passed away Sunday July 21, 2019 from a massive stroke in his hometown Tucson, AZ. Earl Sr., also known as “The Bird”, was born April 16, 1962 in Laconia, TN. He spent his childhood in Chicago, IL before moving to Tucson in 1979 with his mother Ernestine. In 1980, he graduated from Cholla High School and over the years held many position in restaurant & hotel management and also as a correctional officer. Earl Sr. was married to Celicia Hicks (Graham) for 13 years and they shared two children, Earl II & Delicia. Earl Sr. was well known to many all over Tucson but especially around his south 6th neighborhood where he resided with his long time partner Angelina Martinez and two small children, Adrian & Jannet.
Earl was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, nephew and most of all FRIEND. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was also considered “the handy man” to his neighbors. Earl loved hiking, fishing and being outdoors. He will be remembered most by his adventurous personality, talkative nature, & infectious smile/laugh.
Earl Sr. was survived by his mother and stepfather, Ernestine & Howard Bates; his four children, Earl T. Bowers II (Raeven), Delicia M. Alexander (Kern), Adrian T. Martinez-Bowers, & Jannet M. Martinez; 7 grandchildren and a number of other family member located in both Arizona & Tennessee.
Although we are all saddened by the sudden passing of Earl, he would want his life to be celebrated by remembering all the great times we shared.
