Donna Jean Moffitt of Tucson, Arizona passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus the morning of Friday, December 23rd. Known as Jean from an early age, she was born in Willard, Ohio on November 5th, 1946, to James and Lucy Roberts and was the 2nd of 3 children. Her childhood was spent in Shelby, Ohio where Jean graduated from Shelby High School in 1964 as a straight-A student. Shortly after her graduation she moved to Tucson, Arizona with her family where she met Robert Moffitt, her husband of 52 years.
Jean was always excited about her education and was a member of one of the first groups of students in Arizona to receive a Certified Pharmacy Technician degree from Pima Community College. While attending school at night, she raised three children as well as worked as a dedicated employee of Jones’ Drug Company and Reed’s Compounding Pharmacy for over 28 years combined. In 1999, she was awarded the Pharmacy Technician of the Year award by the Arizona Pharmacy Association.
Jean had a life-long love of reading and enjoyed working with many creative crafts later in life. She enjoyed knitting and making blankets for her loved ones while also helping the homeless and the Linus project with this talent. Over her long and blessed life, Jean shared those gifts and talents with many churches through her volunteer work as a VBS teacher, Sunday school teacher, and Food Pantry Minister. She also donated to many charities, supporting underprivileged children, wounded veterans, and many others. Jean was a collector of lighthouses, Noah’s Arks, and cardinals. Jean’s favorite scripture was Jeremiah 29:11.
Jean is survived by her loving husband Robert Moffitt, her daughter Lucy Oliver and husband Ken and grandchildren Chris, Connor and Amelia, her son James Moffitt and Rachel Eccles and grandchildren Zane, Grace and Lillian, her son Frank Moffitt and wife Marissa and grandchildren Mason and Molly, Sisters-In-Law Nancy Larson, Ann Lloyd of Tucson, Arizona and Sharon Roberts of Mansfield, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
