Beloved Father, Son, Sibling, Darrell Dewayne Hogan of Tucson, AZ passed away August 3, 2018. He was born November 23, 1948 to Ross and Wanda Hogan of Sturgis, SD. Darrell is survived by his Daughter, Harmony (Tony)Savoia of Laramie, WY; his Mother Wanda Hogan of Sturgis, SD; Brothers Mike Hogan of Moorcroft, WY; Doug (Sheryl) Hogan of Rapid City, SD; Sisters, Connie (Gary) Donahey of Newell, SD; Patty (Gary) Sattler of Rapid City, SD; Beverly Bruse of Sturgis, SD; his Grandson’s Preston Wittmer and Kai Horton, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, Ross Hogan of Sturgis, SD; Brother in Law Gary Bruse of Sturgis, SD.
Growing up on the family ranch near Newell, South Dakota taught Darrell hard work, perseverance and a love of animals which he carried with him through his life. Early in his life, he rode bulls, and excelled at sports. A talented artist, he loved the Black Hills and the wildlife and used them as subjects for many of his drawings. Though he called the Black Hills home, the warmth of Arizona called to him and he spent nearly 30 years in the Tucson area. Anyone that knew Darrell could say he was feisty and knew what he liked, what he didn’t like and wasn’t afraid to say so. Honesty was one of his most endearing qualities. Darrell was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran and will be interred at the Black Hills National Cemetery with other members of his family that served before him. Dates/details are yet to be determined.
