Dan will be terribly missed by his beloved wife of 26 years, Karen; children Sarah Paoli-Sanchez and Adam Paoli; grandchildren Carmella, Melina, and Sammy C. Sanchez; son-in-law Sammy J. Sanchez; sister Irene (Mike) Spotswood; and Liberty "Libby" Bella, his 4-year-old Golden Retriever.
Dan's lasting legacy will be the love of his family and the hundreds of lives that he impacted in his more than 40 years as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley.
Dan was born in Libertyville, Illinois on June 10, 1953 to parents Harold "Hack" and Claire Paoli. He loved growing up in the country, as it afforded him the opportunity to become an outdoorsman. Some of his favorite childhood memories were of his youth living in Gages Lake, Illinois, where his parents owned and operated a music store, Paoli's House of Music, in the downstairs portion of their family home.
Dan moved to Tucson during the 1970s in order to complete his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in History at the University of Arizona. He fell in love with the desert and surrounding mountains before deciding to make Tucson his permanent home.
Dan's interests included music, fishing, hiking, animals, anything related to history (especially the Civil and Revolutionary Wars), and digital media. His hobbies included creating Facebook pages and groups, along with a YouTube channel, dedicated to his interests.
He will always be remembered for his dynamic sense of humor, sensitivity, kindness, and generosity.
A funeral service for Dan will be held Monday, January 9, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a burial service, at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712. A reception with light refreshments will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona in Dan's honor.
