Daniel Byron Allyn was born August 23, 1931 to Weaver and Etta Allyn in Benton, Illinois. He departed this earth on Friday, December 22, 2017 following a short but courage battle against acute leukemia. He leaves behind his wife Barbara Allyn, children Robert (Denise), Tom (Adele), Linda Allyn-Hornby (Richard), step-children Steve Barnwell (Lupe), Mike Barnwell (Patsy), Terri McCauley (Bill), Lisa Simpson, and a host of grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step- great grandchildren.
Daniel served his country during World War II (1946-1948) and again during the Korean conflict (1952-1954) serving both times in Japan.
After relocating to Tucson, Arizona from Illinois, Daniel worked as an electrician as well as a Project Manager for a number of Electrical Contractors. He also served as the Assistant Business Manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 570.
Following retirement Dan and wife Barbara lived in Sun Sites, Arizona and Alpine, Arizona. They had to return to Tucson in March of 2013 following an accident that left Daniel paralyzed, but managed to spend a couple more summers in Alpine, the place that Daniel loved the most.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the IBEW Local 570 Union Hall, 750 South Tucson Blvd, Tucson, Arizona.
