Face aka "ZZ" (for his uncanny resemblance to the fabled members of ZZ Top.)
Chris Janton passed away Sunday December 26th at his home in Tucson, Arizona.
It is hard to believe that a heart as big and generous as his, would in the end provide the very reason he leaves this world and all of us.
He was extraordinarily generous with his time, generous with his skills, generous with his knowledge and life-experience.
He always had a ready smile, and said "There are no bad days."
Face is survived by his wife, Christine and his well-loved cat Nayla. He is survived by his sisters Renee, Annette, and Maura, and his brother Matt.
Face was preceded in death by our mother Anne, our father Bill, as well as his brothers Mark and Greg.
Face served in the US Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he learned his earliest computing skills. He then spent 30 years building his skills, working in Computer Sciences at the University of Arizona before his retirement in 2004.
After his retirement he spent many years working in the local music scene. Several bands have him to thank for gently improving their sound and for recording some of their shows. He always argued, "Record Every Performance, Every Time." He said he learned constantly from this.
He will be greatly missed by his many friends from the Tucson live music scene, his friends and co-workers from the University computing community, and many others who did not easily fit into any category.
A Memorial Service is planned for Tuesday January 11th at 11:00 A.M. In the Chapel at East Lawn Palms Mortuary 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Face's name, to Flowing Wells Schools or the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
