Carolyn L Corrigan, 81, of Tucson Arizona, passed away Wednesday August 16, 2018. She was born in Pittsburgh PA on December 29, 1936. She was married to James J Corrigan Jr. MD on Sunday, July 3, 1960.
Carolyn graduated from high school and continued her education where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Juanita College. During her scholastic career she was a member of the Campus Relations Club, Senate Social Committee, Touring Choir, Interclub Council, Alfarata Yearbook staff and Play production. A major in home economics, she was active in many groups and was a member Lambda Gamma as well as the Scalpel and Probe Biology Club. Carolyn served as assistant hostess in the Dean’s office; academic proctor and was a member of the Woman’s Disciplinary Council. Carolyn was a teacher and spent many years working with the Women’s Medical Auxiliary and numerous other charities. Carolyn was the treasurer of the Tulane AMA. She also volunteered at Sahuaro High School as a Grant Aide.
Carolyn had a great love for painting, gardening and was dedicated to being a wife and mother as well as her volunteer work within the community.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey James Corrigan, 51, (spouse Michele Corrigan) of Peachtree City GA, her daughter Nancy Carolyn Corrigan, 49, (spouse Kim Miller) of Colorado Springs, CO, her grandchildren Ashlee Deal Corrigan, Kaila Ani Deal, Phoebe Corrigan, Colten Michael Corrigan, Jaxon James Corrigan and great grandchildren, Skyler English and Caliana Caldwell.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way at 12:00pm. Her final resting place will be at East Lawn Palms.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Arizona Arthritis Center at UMC
