Candace Cassell, age 66, died March 13th, 2017, succumbing to the ovarian cancer she had been battling for the past 3 years. She died surrounded by loved ones. Candy was born in Royal Oak, Michigan to James and Madalyn Cassell on March 18th, 1950. She is survived by her brother, James Robert Cassell, her ex-husband Pat McLamarrah and their children Justin, Shawn, Tiffany and Jennifer, her grandchildren and her step-daughter Laura Tavel. She was preceded in death by her long-term partner and love, Mike Tavel. Candy served her community for many years as a dispatcher in the police department before retiring. She loved nature, including walking in Sabino Canyon and Ft Lowell Park in Tucson. Candy enjoyed spending time with her family above all else, and they greatly enjoyed taking vacations to the beach and Disneyland. She put others before herself and always said that “It is better to be kind that to be right.” Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 18th at East Lawn Palm Cemetery in Tucson, Arizona at 2pm.
