Bruce Arthur Workman, 78, passed away peacefully in Fairfield, CA on June 22, 2023 in the loving company of his sons, Timothy and Jeffrey Workman. Bruce was born in Oak Park, Ill on July 20, 1944 to Raymond Arthur and Gertrude Beese Workman. Bruce spent his formative years in Cresskill, NJ and graduated from Pascack Regional Valley High School in 1962. Bruce excelled as a student and developed a passion for the Spanish language and Victorian literature. He attended William & Mary College in Williamsburg, VA where he pursued a major in Spanish and cultivated an active social life as a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity. Bruce later transferred to Upsala College in East Orange, NJ where he completed his undergraduate studies with a BA in Spanish in 1966. Bruce worked at DuPont and Fiat in the greater New York City area in the late 1960s and early 1970s. A lifelong classical piano enthusiast, Bruce met his future wife, Janet Marian Cioffi, after enrolling in her piano lessons. They married in Cresskill, NJ in 1975 and then moved to Stanton, CA, where Bruce pursued a J.D. at Western State College of Law. Bruce went on to establish a thriving personal injury law practice serving Spanish-speaking clientele throughout Southern California. In his spare time, Bruce curated one of the finest private collections of Victorian American and English literature in the world. Bruce retired in Tucson, AZ in 1999, where he began collecting rare firearms, amassing one of the largest private collections of NFA firearms in the Southwest. Bruce is predeceased by his wife, Janet, his brother, Clark, and his parents Raymond and Gertrude. He is survived by his sons Timothy and Jeffrey and his niece and nephew Christine and Steven.
