Ben was born on May 17, 1928 in Good Thunder, Minnesota to parents Walter and Tressa Gosewisch. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and married the love of his life, Frances Dolan in 1953. Together they built a beautiful life based on unconditional love, laughter, and the promise to always take care of each other.
Ben was predeceased by his parents; Walter and Tressa, brothers, Ed and Bill, and his eldest son Mitchell Gosewisch. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Fran and his children, Matthew Gosewisch and Mindy Moonen. Ben was blessed with seven grandchildren, Trish Willis, Melissa Gosewisch, Megan (Jason) Landrey, Andrew (Autumn) Gosewisch, Brian (Elizabeth) Gosewisch, Kailey Moonen, and Marisa “Rissy” Moonen; twelve great-grandchildren, Tony, Jeremiah, Matthew, Summer, Trevor, Kalin, Asher, Jessica, Matthew, Zachary, Camryn, and Kenzie; and three great-great-grandchildren, Julia, Emilia, and Mila. He is also survived by adored in-laws, Bob and Janie Dolan, and Marianne “Tootie” Henderson; extended family, Nora, Wendy, and Henk; many loved nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Ben was an amazing, hardworking man with a fiery determination; a true craftsman with an innate ability to fix anything and to create everything mom dreamed of. He will be forever remembered for his kindness, gentle smile, keen sense of creativity, and his ability to see the good in everything and everyone.
We thought we loved you more than we could love anyone, yet today we love you even more. You will always be in our hearts Papa.
A celebration of Ben’s life will be held on Saturday July 27, 2019 at 1:00pm at East Lawn Palms Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peppi’s House – TMC Hospice.
