In Charleston, SC on January 6, 1939 I was the eldest of three children born to Bazzell Astor Meares Sr. and Anna (Jackson) Meares.
After completing Burke High School, I joined the United States Air Force. My first duty station was Davis Monthan AFB. Defending this country, my tours of duty included Guam, Thailand, Viet Nam, England, Cambodia and other places. After completing 20 years and 19 days of service, I retired in 1978.
Saudia Arabia was my next venture where I worked in the Postal Service. After Saudi Arabia, I just traveled, until finally settling in Tucson, Arizona.
To my sister and brother Alethea, Alfred; my daughter DeeDee, my niece Shayne and my friend Mike who is protecting this country from the sea, my love to all of you.
