Barbara L. (Peterman) Trainor, 81, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on September 26, 2024. Barbara was born on October 14, 1942 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Robert and Clara (Ewing) Peterman. She had one brother, Robert (Bobby) Peterman of Fort Thomas, Arizona, and a sister, Mara Affre of Henderson, Nevada.
The Peterman Family relocated from Pennsylvania to Tucson in 1952 relating to health concerns with her father, ultimately settling in the old Thompson Trailer town on north Oracle Road. Barbara would attend Wetmore & Prince Elementary School, and then later Amphitheater high school, graduating with the class of 1960. Soon after graduation, she would marry her high school sweetheart William "Bill" Trainor. Her first son Billy was born a year later, followed by their second son Bradley nine years later.
Barbara is survived by her husband William, sister Mara along with her sons Billy (Kerri), Brad (Kelli), also by her grandchildren Greg of Safford, Arizona; Caleb of Austin, Texas; Hannah James, (Spencer) of New Braunfels, Texas; and Hailey of Woodway, Texas, along with many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a long time Hughes Aircraft employee, rising from a file clerk to a department head. Retiring at the age of 55, she said it was time for her to enjoy life. She built a cabin in the White Mountains to get our of the Tucson heat, and loved the Beaches of Hawaii. Maui was her favorite spot, watching the sunrise with her coffee cup in hand. Her many boating trips to Roosevelt Lake with her friends and family. As she always said this is one beautiful way to live.
One would have to look far and wide to find a more loving and caring person than Barbara. That smile and those big brown eyes, if you knew her, you loved her as she loved you.
One can't forget the wonderful care she received from her doctors, J. Suriano, L. Bergstrom her RA, Dr. Hishaw BNA and the TMC Hospice home care nurses Brian and Claudia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Banner Behavioral Neuroscience and Alzheimer's Clinic in Barbara's name.
A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
