July 6, 1926 – April 3, 2025
Austin Robison, a proud Navy veteran, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, at the age of 98.
Born on July 6, 1926, in Greenwood, Indiana, Austin served his country honorably during World War II as a navigator and radio operator as an airman with the Pacific Fleet. Following the war, he returned home to Indiana, where he married the love of his life, Ellen Weidner. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and devotion, lasting until Ellen's passing in 2012.
Austin and Ellen moved to Southern California where he worked as head of shipping and receiving for an industrial company and she was an RN. Together, Austin and Ellen raised two children, Sandy Broussard and Brad Robison (married to Kathy). He was a proud grandfather to Amy Pike (married to Tom), Lauren Tarantino (married to Nick), Kevin Ahearn (married to Sarah), and Luke Robison (married to Sarah). He also leaves behind four beloved great-grandchildren: Alexa, Grayson, Patrick, and Ethan.
After retiring, Austin and Ellen relocated to Arizona to be closer to Sandy and her family. He embraced the desert life with joy and continued to pursue the things he loved most: tending his yard and garden, feeding the local wildlife, baking delicious pies, painting, hiking, and cheering on his favorite NCAA teams. He was also a steadfast member of Saguaro Christian Church for 36 years.
Austin’s life was defined by service, love, and simple joys. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, perseverance, and devotion to God and family that will live on through the many lives he touched.
A private family memorial will be held to honor and celebrate his life.
