MILLER, Arla Roberta (Todd), November 18, 1929 - August 2, 2011. Arla, of Tucson, AZ, passed quietly at the age of 81. She was preceded by her husband, William D. and her eldest son, Steven T. Arla is survived by her son, W. Marc; her daughter, Xanthe Y.; her granddaughter, Sunday E. and her daughter-in-law, Pamela L. Miller. Born in Reeder, North Dakota, Arla obtained her first degree from the University of Oregon, where she met William. They were married on April 14, 1955 and moved to Southern California, where Arla embarked on a lifelong career in education. William and Arla relocated to Bisbee, AZ, in 1971, where Arla taught in the Bisbee school system for 25 years. Arla was renowned for her ability to recall all of her students, by name and took special pride in their accomplishments. Arla will be missed by all who knew her, and all who were privileged to have her as a teacher and mentor. A Celebration of life will be held next Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ.
