It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our beloved TZ (aka Moose). Tony lived a full life, enjoying: family & friends, almost daily Gin Rummy games, AZ Wildcats, relaxing in the White Mountains, traveling, serving his community and his lifelong career selling Life & Health Insurance. Tony was born in Anderson, IN to Joseph & Julie Ziehler. His early childhood was spent in Dayton, OH surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins. In 1946 his family moved to Tucson. They put down roots in the Tucson Mountains where Tony’s love of horses began. He often rode his horse, Kickie to school. The Ziehler family spent a year in Okinawa after which Tony returned to graduate from Salpointe H.S.Tony earned a Business Degree from The University of Arizona in 1958. He began his career selling life, health and group insurance. Soon after, Tony started his own independent agency. Ziehler Insurance has always been a family affair. His son Mike and daughters Sue & Kathy all worked along with him. Mike now runs the business. Tony’s involvement with
organizations in Tucson included: The Salvation Army, Tucson Conquistadors, Tucson Rotary Club, The Westerners, AZ Historical Society, and The Million
Dollar Round Table. Tony is survived by his wife Barbara Wood Ziehler of 34 years; his daughters, Sue Brown (Kevin), Kathy Dwyer (Mike), Jane Bee (Brian), Patty Koty (Lloyd); son, Mike Ziehler (Lisa); stepsons, David Wood (Jan), Brent Wood (Traci); sister, Judy Richey; cousin, Bill Focke (Deanne); grandchildren, Tamara (Chris), Ben, JD (Lindsay), Kendra, Matthew, Melissa, Jessica, Blake, Tyler, Connor, Anya, Taylor, Carter, Trevor, Bryce, Madison, &
Mitchell; great grandchildren, Emily, Trevor, Brayden & Grace; nephew, David Creedon (Mari); niece, Mimi Creedon (Steve). A Memorial Service for Tony will be held at East Lawn Mortuary on Saturday, November 29 at 10:30, 5801 E Grant Rd (viewing starting at 10:00). Burial to follow. Tony loved large and deep. We will treasure our memories. Remembrances may be made in honor of Tony Ziehler to The Salvation Army or The Tucson Conquistadors.
