Andy was a wonderful and happy man, loving husband, father, grandfather, godfather, brother, and friend.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1976-1979, the Army National Guard for 6 years, and recently joined the Marine Corps League Tucson Detachment 007 serving as Commandant 2018-2020. He really enjoyed being part of the Color Guard participating in many Flag raising ceremonies, presentation of colors, and paying tribute to fallen Marines with funeral honors. Andy was a master at fundraising for the Detachment and established an annual golf tournament that benefits the Detachment and a local family in need.
Among some of his hobbies was a love for golf, softball, and restoring his 1965 Ford Galaxie 500.
Andy is survived by his wife, Silvia; daughter Melissa; son Benny; and daughter-in-law Kristen; brothers, Peter Lopez (Carmen (DECEASED)), Esteban "Steven" Lopez, Tommy Lopez (Jenise (DECEASED)), Randy Lopez (Alma), Antonio "Paco" Lopez (Lourdes), and Freddy Lopez; sister Angie Carlson (Bruce); granddaughter Anissa, grandsons Andres, Ariel, and Adan; along with two goddaughters, Bernie and Katrina, and many nieces and nephews..
Andy was preceded in death by father Benny and mother Virginia; sister Elizabeth; sister Virginia; brother John; brother Richard and brother George.
A visitation for Andy will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a graveside service with military honors from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at SOUTH LAWN CEMETERY, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, Arizona 85706.
