May 4, 1987 – August 21, 2018
It is not possible to put in words the man, son, brother, friend, and sweetheart that Adam was to all of us. You will read our memories and thoughts, but it can’t be expressed in this memorial the wonderful person Adam was and the impact he’s made in all our lives. At the end of this life, what we’ve done doesn’t matter - it’s who we’ve touched. Adam’s life touched so many of us in so many ways.
Adam Joseph Olson, 31, went to his home in Glory on Aug 21, 2018. Adam was born on May 4, 1987 in Tucson, AZ. He is survived by his parents Rosalie and Stephen, fiancée Sarah, siblings Aaron (Tanya), Ruth (Mark), Stephen (Tiffany), nephews and nieces Matthew, Levi, Samuel, Melody, Joshua, Grace, Hailey, Kenya, Oliver and Emmet.
Adam was a genuine Christian; he loved the Lord Jesus and believed The Bible with all his heart.
It didn’t matter what your relationship was with Adam, he never wrote anyone off and truly cared about every person he came in contact with. He seldom spoke negative of anybody and always tried to see their point of view. Adam looked for the good in everyone.
Adam was a wildland firefighter and a hotshot for over 10 years with the U.S. Forest Service. He was the squad boss of the Mesa Interagency Hotshot Crew and has been a significant part of the crew during that time. For six months of the year Adam was on fires with his fire crew family. He enjoyed working outside, sleeping under the stars and enjoyed the sense of accomplishment at the end of the day after a hard hike or putting in two miles of line. He was proud of his dirty “yellows”. Adam was an amazing man and a great leader. He always had a calm demeanor no matter what was happening around him. He loved the people he worked with and considered them family.
When fire season was over, Adam enjoyed being with the people he loved. After several weeks of catching up on sleep, Adam was full of life. It didn’t matter if he was hiking, playing soccer, basketball, golf, off-roading, playing games or just hanging out, he enjoyed being with his family and friends.
He liked to travel and would squeeze in as much as possible during the off season. He visited Costa Rica, Zion Canyon and went to Jeffersonville Indiana and Canada several times.
His passing is a great loss and he will be dearly missed by all, but we have a promise that we’ll see him again!
The Bible says:
I Thessalonians 4:16-17 KJVS
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
John 11:25-26 KJVS
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
We believe that in us, this morning, Lord, by the grace of God, reigns immortal Life in our physical beings. We believe that in there is the Spirit of God that cannot die, that It never will die. And He has…He said, “I’ll give them everlasting Life. They shall never perish, and I’ll raise them up at the last day.” We believe it, Lord, for we are witnesses of His resurrection.
