William Lee Singleton

Bill was born on April 2, 1934 in Gwinnett County Ga., to the late James Fred Singleton and Ollie Chadwick Singleton. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded by his first wife Jacquelyn Wellborn Singleton, his baby son Jackie Singleton, his sister Francis Hoffman, and his brothers Bobby Singleton, Benny Singleton, and Danny Singleton.

W.L. was educated in Tucker, Ga, and then enlisted in the United States Navy. During his time in the Navy, he was stationed on the U.S.S. Intrepid. He always treasured his time on the Intrepid and visited the ship in New York on several occasions. Following his discharge, he had a long career in the hospitality industry. He loved spending time with friends and family, and was an avid golfer. He never met a stranger and his smile and personality would light up the room wherever he was.

In addition to his wife Orpha, he is survived by his son and daughter in law, Billy Singleton and Michelle Singleton, his grandchildren and their spouses Matthew Singleton and Mary Catherine Singleton, Sara Singleton Rudolph and Jonathan Rudolph along with his much loved extended family.

A visitation for William will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
