Wilber Lee Edenfield

Mr. Wilber Lee “W.L.” Edenfield passed peacefully at the Emeritus as Roslyn Nursing Facility from Acute Kidney Failure on Jan 15th, 2015 in Denver, CO at the age of 79. W.L. is survived by his son, Lee H. Edenfield (Wife Sara) Denver, CO; Sister - Magdalene Taylor, Vidalia, GA (Her husband Hubert is deceased.); Brother - Charles H. Edenfield (Wendy), Conway, AR; Brother - Paul Edenfield, Jr (Gerri), Hattieville, AR. He is preceded in death by his wife Charlotte Ann Edenfield of Decatur, GA.

W.L. was born on January 22nd, 1935 in Vidalia, GA to Father - Rev. Paul Edenfield and Mother - Ruby Halligan Edenfield. He graduated from Vidalia HS in 1954 and married his high school sweetheart Charlotte Ann Hall soon thereafter. W.L. served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1963 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal for his time served. After the Army, W.L. began working for J.G. McCrory's as a Store Manager. In 1971 the couple welcomed Lee H. Edenfield into their family and eventually settled in Decatur, Ga in 1974.

W.L. was an accomplished Manager, with over 35 years tenure with J.G. McCrory’s, and was often recognized as Manager of the Year. He was a generous, witty, and kind individual who loved a good one-liner and who enjoyed being around family and friends. He was an active and dedicated member of Clairmont Hills Baptist Church and often volunteered and worked with the church’s Pre-K program.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, Floral Hills Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA, where funeral service will begin at 12 noon. All are welcome to attend and celebrate W.L.’s life.
