Sharon Kay Arrowsmith (née Butcher), affectionately known as Pepper, passed away on July 7, 2024, in Aurora, Ohio, at the age of 83. Born on February 5, 1941, in Camp Point, Illinois, Sharon dedicated her life to education and child development, impacting countless lives as a devoted teacher.
Sharon graduated from Central High School before pursuing higher education at Western Illinois University and Georgia State University. Her passion for education led her to a fulfilling career as a teacher, where she nurtured the growth and development of young minds with dedication and kindness.
Sharon was a woman of deep faith, actively involved in the Tucker First Methodist Church. Her spiritual life was enriched by her hobbies, which included gardening and studying the Bible, reflecting her nurturing nature and quest for knowledge.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Arrowsmith, and grandson, Blake Arrowsmith. Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Garnet Butcher, father, Ransom Butcher, brother, Larry Butcher, and son, Kevin Arrowsmith.
Visitation will be held on July 20, 2024, from 4-6 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084. A service celebrating her life will take place on July 21, 2024, from 2-3 PM at Tucker First Methodist Church, 5095 Lavista Rd, Tucker, GA 30084.
