Samuel Fuentes was born in Havana, Cuba to Sixto and Nieves Fuentes. He migrated to the United States as a young man and pursued a career in commercial and home repairs. Samuel was talented in many areas including tile setting, music and art. He had a lovely singing voice.
Samuel’s life was not easy but he loved God, his family and his friends. He may be best remembered for his humor and sociability. Samuel never met a stranger. He engaged others and made them laugh. Sam was a loyal person. He paid his debts and helped others in need. Although the past years were plagued with poor health, he did not lose that good humor.
Samuel came to faith in Jesus Christ as a young man and was baptized. His mother prayed constantly for his welfare and spiritual life. Surely the Lord was faithful honoring his mother’s requests to the very end.
Samuel entered into Heaven on Sunday, July 8th at 1:21 PM. He is with Jesus, well and celebrating with those who have gone on ahead.
Samuel is survived by three children – Merali, Sammy and Cynthia. He also leaves seven beautiful grandchildren, his two sisters, a brother in law and many friends and family.
