Peggy E. Wilson 87, a long-time resident of the Decatur area, passed away to be with the Lord Sunday the 14th of February. She was born January 15, 1929 in Atlanta to the late John and Velma Hill. Peggy had five brothers, and three sisters. Peggy married Floyd Hollis Wilson on November 3, 1944. They were married for 63 years until his passing in 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Welch and husband Paul Welch, daughter Patricia Ann Landress, son Floyd Wilson Jr. and wife Sherry Wilson. She was also survived by five grandchildren, Melony Westphal, Paul Welch Jr., Floyd Wilson III and wife, Camille Wilson, Peggy Welch Bush and husband Ken Bush, and John Tyler Wilson. Seven great-grandchildren John Broom, Tiffany Westphal, Lila Kate Bush, Nolan Bush, Luke Bush, Vivienne Wilson, and Nathaniel Bush, as well as two great-great grandchildren Levi Broom, and Jaxon Westphal. She is also survived by her brother Johnny Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, and brothers Sam, George, Edmond, and Howard Hill, and sisters Elizabeth Shaw, Theresa Hill and Lois Stone.
Peggy was a long time member of Rehoboth Baptist Church in Tucker. She was a homemaker and also retired from Ciba Vision. She loved short road trips with her husband, sewing, cooking, grandchildren being born and going out to eat with family.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., Floral Hills Funeral Home Chapel, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 12 – 1 p.m., Rehoboth Baptist Church, 2997 Lawrenceville Highway followed by funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. The burial will immediately follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Tucker, GA.
