In Loving Memory of Montierro Skrine, born April 15, 1985, who passed from this life on September 5, 2020, in Sacramento, California. He was a compassionate and loving person with a charismatic and vibrant personality. His smiles and laughs were contagious; hanging around Montierro, you would not be sad for long because he would always have a positive comment that would help you forget about your sadness. He was selfless and helped people wherever he went. He was a drummer beating to the beat of his heart and a soldier fighting against injustice to others.
Montierro was born at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, and at age two, he was Christened and baptized into the Apostolic Faith. He attended Knollwood Elementary School in Decatur, GA, and was academically a straight “A” student in the DeKalb County Magnet programs. He completed his Graduate Equivalency Degree (GED) in 2012. Montierro played soccer and basketball at the Decatur Recreation Center in Decatur, GA. His favorite food, Mac & Cheese and Starburst candy. He enjoyed going to the beach and observing nature.
Montierro opened his heart and arms to help others in need of charity. He was an angel dispatched from heaven to serve humanity for the greater good. However, Montierro’s Creator knew when it was time for him to return to his heavenly home. The book of Ecclesiastes 12:7 says, “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it (KJV).”
Now his spirit is with the Lord, and he is at peace!
Montierro leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Samya N. Henderson; three sons, Montierro Skrine, Jr., Martavious Skrine, and Marvin L. Hurt; his loving mother, Ramona Stevens; father, Freddie K. Skrine [wife, Terea]; brother, Freddie F. Stevens [wife, Sonya]; and children and grandchildren. And a host of family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of ABC Cremation Society, Sacramento, California.
