Martha Moore passed on April 9, 2021. Martha was a native Atlantan (born on October 3, 1928) and lived in Atlanta her entire life with the exception of a few months in Tennessee. She graduated from Girls High in 1946 and married the love of her life on July 3, 1948. As a lifelong member of Druid Hills Presbyterian Church, she held multiple roles with Presbyterian Women USA, served as an Elder and participated in all facets of church life. She was also an active participant in PTA while her children were in school at Inman Park Elementary, Hawthorne Elementary, Heritage Elementary and Lakeside High School. She was an avid bridge player in various clubs including a group of ladies that she went to kindergarten with, enjoyed her close friendships, loved to read, and enjoyed traveling. She was a great Southern cook and enjoyed hosting and feeding her family. She was always up for trip to the Varsity for a chili dog, onion rings and a PC (which only a native Atlantan can TRULY appreciate)!
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Marian and LeMoyne (Lee) Erdman, husband, James Richard (Dick) Moore Jr. and her son, James Richard Moore IV and daughter-in-law Shari. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Yoder and son-in-law Christopher, daughter, Lori Moore Ward, grandchildren, Leigh Ann Hefner, Kristin Leigh Yoder, James Grant Ward and Griffin LeMoyne Ward, great-grandchildren, Mark Garst, Justin Garst, Kris Hefner and 3 great great grandchildren.
There was not a day that passed in the last 45 years that she did not think about and miss her husband. She has now joined him and we are grateful for the peace and happiness that will bring her.
The graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Thomas Hagood and will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Garden located at 3000 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084 on Monday, April 12th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Druid Hills Presbyterian Church or Columbia Presbyterian Church, both in Atlanta, GA.
