Marjorie was born in Nashville, Georgia, March 11. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Samuel Coulson, her parents Wilma and Harmon Cornelius, and brother Billy Cornelius.
She was a dearly loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marjorie was a long-time member of Tucker United Methodist Church’s Westly Fellowship Class. She was always learning and encouraging others to learn and often encouraged others to “go look it up”.
She loved her L.O.L.L.D.O group, (Little Old Ladies Lunch Day Out) and the Winding Woods Garden club. She always just wanted to go out and explore and enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Going out and exploring could mean a road trip to see waterfalls, dinner out with friends or flying to see new and different places.
Flowers bloomed year-round in her garden. She loved and cared for each plant and enjoyed trimming, mulching, and weeding as much as the beautiful blooms that her flowers produced. While she could tell you the proper name of every plant, she would name each plant based on who gifted them to her. She would say “look Wally is blooming”,
She is survived by her brother: Bob Cornelius, daughters: Patricia Hill (Chris), Jayne Thames (Brian), Susan Hughes (Mark), grandchildren: Rebecca Dent (Ryan), Brian Hill (Shannon), Sara Shaff (Justin), Hannah Thames, Garrett Hill, Hunter Hughes, Hayley Hughes, great Grandchildren: Hank Dent, Reid Hill, Rhett Hill, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 10:00 at Tucker First United Methodist Church, followed by the service at 11:00. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Tucker First United Church.
